Barbacoa | La Pimenterie

Barbacoa comes from Arawak, the language of the Taíno people, a Caribbean tribe. It originally refers to slow-cooking meat over a fire. The word made its way to Mexico and then to the United States via Texas, where it transformed into "Barbecue." Barbacoa is a Tex-Mex style BBQ sauce, sweet, tangy, and lightly spiced with an aromatic blend of dried Mexican peppers. A mainstream sauce for all kinds of grilling!
